HFC Easter Play 2009

As you all know, I've been aggresively promoting out church's Easter Play, which was held yesterday, the 26th of April 2009 at 7.00pm, at Holy Family Church Kajang.

The play was organized by the Single Working Adults Ministry, also known as SWAM, which was Directored by AnnMarie, assisted by Angie and the rest of the SWAM team. Preparations for the play begun 3 months before. The script was done and the actors were chosen. Songs, music and dancers also begin practising 2 months before the play. must say, on my side, I wasn't thinking the play would be D' BOMB, being involved in 2 other Easter plays previously, I thought this would be just another normal play...ALL BEING SAID TOO SOON LA HUH...

The Director...Annmarie...

Promotion leaflet

To my surprise, both priest were aggresively promoting the play, leaflets were photocopied and distributed, massive marketing plans were made, extraordinary props were being done, great musicians were 'hired', songs were written and sung, practices was pushed to the edge...the preparation and the anticipation got me all hyped up for the play.

Hence, the Sat and Sun(25th and 26th), we sang 'Worthy is the Lamb', which is like the peak of the entire play. To listen to the song, please click here. Thinking maybe father would like say 'FYI, the song the choir sang is a glimpse of what you'll be getting in the play..so come and watch it..' *Yea..dream on la..as though father will say that*... So, what happened on that day was...

Before the play..the dancers, the actors...

The choir members...Look at their faces la..damn anticipating right!!

The choir gather in church at 5pm for sound check. Then we were told to gather at wisdom room for some praise and worship, but I tell you, the SWAM committee damn confusing. Annmarie say to join, then some say no need..so in the end, the choir join in half way...so what happened was Theresa, Abigail, James and me was hanging out at the foyer, looking at who turn up for the play. At 6.30pm, people start coming, filling up the 1st few rows of seats..Then by 7pm, the front section of the church was already packed with people, and people are still coming. Cars had to be parked opposite the church at the college, and by 7.15, the back section of the church was beginning to be filled with people. I was so happy and excited to see so many people turn up for the play. Then at 7.30pm, Father George started the play with a short prayer. The Narrator, Simon D'Cruz, announced that those who wished to sit upstairs may do so. So half of the crowd went upstairs to sit...Damn..the number of crowds...i can say about more than 700 people came..What a crowd...Greatest turn out ever...

Part of the crowd..This picture was taken at 7.00pm..and people are still walking in...

Then lights were off...smoke machine were turn on...and the narrator begin.."The Single Working Adults Ministry proudly present to you...Jesus, His Story..." And the opening entrace is played. Musicians were Jude, Lourdes, Bernard and a guitarist(sorry forgot his name)..The crowds started to cheer and clap...Wow..what a feeling..Then the play begin...

The entire cast members on stage while Fr William deliver a final note to all present..

It's difficult to explain the entire play because there were so many nice scene it in. The SWAM team wil be comin up with a VCD of the play..if you want to watch it, then pls do buy it...

All in all, it was THE BEST play I've ever participated. Many new songs were learnt, friendships were build.. Great job and Kudos to Annmarie and the SWAM team. And also not forgetting the talented and most artistic choir ever, HFC combine choir of English and BM speaking choir...More news and pictures can be obtained from the church website or Uncle Simon Phun's blog.
