Well, Chinese New Year this year was..i have to say, the best so far. Not because i collected many ang pau's(which reduce tremendously compare to previous years due to the fact that I've started working)..But it was mainly because I got to spend the best 4 days with my family and friends.Let me tell you how it went..
Well, on the 23rd of January, we(as in my choir frens) were suppose to go clubbing at Quattro coz we still have 1 bottle there..but plans changed..so Sherie, Ash, Glynn and me went yamcha at Starbucks.. Had a good chit chatting session with them..lots of laughing as usual..haha...then after that we headed to Keith and Allison's place to drop Ash and to pass Allison her birthday present..Came back and slept around 3plus.
24th January, was awaken by SuIng, my hometown fren, coz i followed her car back home. Had breakfast, then we left for Segamat at 8.30am...(she wanted to leave at 5am to beat the jam..)Had a great laughing session with her...it was a fantastic trip..and like i finally found out she has a BF..haha..whose name i still cant pronounce..actually can..but it always comes out the wrong...nvm bout the name, shoutout to SuIng, thanks for the ride..it was fun.. :)
Well, reach home about 11plus, help mom to do some cleaning, clearing up, then went to get a hair cut, then after that to church then that night met up with my form6 friends. Around 20 of us was there, updating each other with who's with who, who's doing what, etc.. and mind you, out of the 20 there, only 3 have partners. The rest are still single...then we thought, damn..we're getting old..then i set the rule..NEXT YEAR...ALL MUST HAVE PARTNERS..haha...we shall see how it goes..
Then on the 25th of January, bro, me and mom left for Kemaman, dad's side of the family. Journey there was fun..listened to my bro's Ipod Touch(btw, he gave me a 16G Ipod Nano for Xmas present 2008...)heard a few nice songs...its in my Ipod now..hehe..had reunion dinner with my grandma, aunties, cousins..then after that we had karaoke session. Its actually a karaoke set, bought by my uncle, where it only consist of 2 mikes, with chips..and you choose the songs that you want to sing, sing it and at the end of it, a score will display on the TV screen. Cool huh!!..Well, Me and my cousin Mae, both of us were sick with flu and cough..but we rock the house..haha..we scored like 95%, highest. My other cousin, Wei Lim, did an impersonation of Louis Armstrong What a Wonderful World, and that got him 93%. It was fun..if dad was still here, he sure would enjoy it...
Then 26th January, Chinese Niu Year...collected ang pau's, talked, laughed, eat, sleep..basically slept a lot coz i was not feeling well and I was on medication. And mind you, all the food i ate, i cant even taste it ok...so i eat for the sake of making my hunger go down..aih...bad time to be sick...Then around 4plus, we headed back to Segamat, met up with mom's side of the family, had dinner, had our traditional tea ceremony, which we still practiced it even uptil this day...then gamble a bit, played with my youger cousins, nieces and nephew(my mom's side of the family is huge..basically there's like 10-15 kids) played fireworks with them, had a chit chat session with my elder cousins..it was a nice time spent..
27th January, 2nd day of Chinese Niu Year, most of the time spent was at my grandma's house, with my family..did not do any house visit though..suppose to go back that day, but then couldn't get any ride back..thank goodness lilian had an extra tix the next day..so went back the next day..that night frens came over my house and stayed til 3am...had a new discovery..shall not talk about it until it really happened...fingers cross..haha..*sek kuan might know what i'm talking about*..
So left Segamat on the 28th of January with Lilian. Had a great time talking to her on the train. Its been a while since both of us cousins actually met up and talk..then reach kl around 3, went straight to office to do some work...dressed casually mind you..haha..nothing much to do actually, so cleared up a bit of paper works, keying in some details into the IES system, then went back..
Well, all in all, it was a great time spent with family and friends...really really had a great time..Even though was sick, but that did not stop me from having fun..haha.. Anyway, a video of our hometown's tea ceremony...my mom(wearing red, seated) and the kids and younger generation serving her tea...its actually a sign of respect, and both parties will exchange words of encouragements, luck, wishes etc etc..its really really interesting. Enjoy!!
